Woot Ounon, Regional Director of GNPI-Thailand
How long have you worked with GNPI?
I have been with the ministry since 2001, working full time as an editor and filmmaker under Tom Silkwood, who was the original director of GNPI-Thailand. We continued the ministry partnership with GNPI after Tom’s passing in 2016, and I became the regional director in February 2021.
What is your favorite book of the Bible, and why?
I love the book of Matthew because it tells the stories of Jesus, who patterns for us the way we should walk in our daily life. Matthew 28:18-20 is our mandate to make disciples for Christ so that they too can live in the Kingdom of Heaven. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
What do you love about GNPI, and what excites you about the future?
I have always loved producing media in various forms to share about Christ. What I love about working with GNPI is that they too have this same heart to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ through media. I also love how they train others to use media to make disciples. GNPI is the backbone of our teams, partnering with us by raising funds for equipment, praying with and for us, and encouraging us in all that we do. I love GNPI and all that it stands for, and it is an honor to be a part of the international team.
I am excited for the future as we prepare scripts and programs to make Christian media more interesting and accessible to Thai Buddhists. I am also excited for the Nomad training so we can help the local churches develop media teams to multiply media discipleship.
