Christmas in India (along with many places in the world) didn’t go as planned. However, your gifts shared the real meaning of Christmas with millions of Hindu people. Our team in India worked with ministry partners on seven special programs to celebrate the birth of Christ. The leaders of our country allow Christians to broadcast programs about Jesus on national television for Christmas and Easter. The rest of the year, it is illegal.
The national television station did not broadcast our main program this year due to a technical issue with their satellite, but two other telecasts were successful on Shubsandesh TV, a Christian channel. We also gave cable networks access to the content at the last minute. Hindi Church Online included the songs and message in their service, and this provided positive social media exposure as the viewership continues to grow. Over 500,000 viewers tuned in to the first service of 2021!
We are following up with all those who used our call-in phone number to pray with viewers, provide media resources, and connect them with local believers.
