Our friend and partner Jon Ralls of Kavanah Media calls himself a wannabe fisherman. He doesn’t have much time for trout fishing, but Jon takes the words of Jesus in Matthew 4:19-20 seriously.
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of people. At once they left their nets and followed him.”
Jon explains that there are multiple types of fish and multiple types of nets. He has helped GNPI set up a new Media to Ministry (M2M) strategy for The Global Gospel. This repurposed Media to Disciple-Making Movements strategy is a tool to find people who are seeking Jesus. Jon says that when we align ourselves with the Holy Spirit, we can fish for the right people, with the right message, at the right time, and on the right device.
You can find and use this new resource on the common felt needs or pain points of life in your own discipleship groups! Those common needs are forgiveness, love, acceptance, significance, and security. Jon says, “We want to match Jesus to people’s problems.”
If you’d like to learn more about social media ministry, you can listen to Jon’s podcast.
