India is home to 1.2 billion people, only 2.2 percent of which are professing Christians. Ninety percent of India’s 2,018 people groups are unreached. According to Indian census statistics, 81.4 percent of women between the ages of 15-49 (considered prime childbearing ages) are married. The Indian Journal of Psychiatry implies societal expectations in India create significant challenges for marriage, including domestic violence, dowry harassment, abuse of dowry law, dowry death, separation, and divorce. India needs to be offered biblical solutions to common marriage issues.
