Solar Kits

Global

Sometimes God works through small things to get our attention. Christian workers in remote areas of Africa said, “It was a small box; one could not tell it could do great wonders."  Other ministry partners said, "The people would move closer, very quietly, in rapt attention to the film. Some of them had never seen a moving picture before, much less pictures of the gospel in their own language."

If your desire is to be strategic and innovative in telling more people about Jesus, GNPI can help take your ministry farther. GNPI has mobilized more than 600 solar powered media kits for evangelism, church planting, and leadership training. Another team member said, "It’s amazing what the Lord is doing through this little yellow kit! We trained our partners, gave them the kits, and the Holy Spirit is doing the rest."

What is the Solar Kit, and how does it work?

A Solar Kit is a strategic tool designed for evangelism. It enables missionaries and national church workers to share the gospel of Christ through media in places where there is no electricity.

The solar panel charges a lithium battery. It then operates a small projector to present the "Son" in the most remote places on earth.  These versatile kits deliver media from multiple sources, including micro SD cards, USB ports, and HDMI inputs. The kit also includes cables, a set of speakers, and a waterproof case with a screen on the inside lid.

Solar Kits provide new many opportunities to talk to people about Jesus. Protus Sibukule wrote, “The unique presentation of the gospel using one of GNPI’s Solar Kits opened the eyes of the chief West Pokot, Kenya.” The chief asked questions, searched scripture, and chose to be baptized into Christ!

The kits are helpful for people of all ages. “The Solar Kit provides an attraction for our outreach in northern India The children come first. They pay attention and ask so many questions. Then they invite the pastors to come to their homes to share about Christ. God is blessing our work.” Simmi Dhingra.

The kits simplify efforts for workers in remote areas. Allen Sappington writes, “Thanks a thousand times for providing a Solar Kit for our work. We started using 16mm film on reel-to-reel projectors in 1985. We carried them to jungle villages and islands on horseback, on our backs, in dugout canoes, in small planes, and on four-wheel drive trucks. The Solar Kit is a miracle for our Floating Bible Schools ministry in San Blas Islands, Panama. Nearly 150 people have made decisions for Christ.”

Where are they sent?

GNPI has been using Solar Kits to share the gospel since 1981. To date, the ministry has sent more than 600 Solar Kits to 45 nations. With hundreds still in use around the world, Solar Kits make a huge impact in places with limited access to electricity.

How can I help?

Find out if the missionaries and kingdom workers you support would benefit from a Solar Kit!

You can sponsor a Solar Kit for $1,000 to provide a powerful tool for sharing the gospel, even for those unable to cover the cost. You can also ask your church to sponsor Solar Kits through your VBS, a Sunday school class, or a special offering.

You could take a Solar Kit with you on your next short-term mission trip. When the trip is over, leave it behind to help missionaries spread God’s word! For more information go to: gnpi.org/solarkits
