Ministry Report

Redux allows church leaders to keep a finger on the pulse of their church’s discipleship efforts.

We’ve all probably heard this challenge during a sermon about evangelism: The pastor says, “Write down the names of a few people in your life who don’t know Jesus. Pray for them, invite them to your homes, or offer them a ride to church.”

Jesus called us to share the good news with the world, but we’re sometimes unsure about where to start. Discipleship is more than checking items off a to-do list. It’s telling someone we’ll pray for them and taking steps to make sure we actually do it. It’s remembering details of a heartfelt conversation with a hurting person and following up to see how they’re coping. That level of intentionality is difficult!

GNPI IMPACT

  • GNPI-Eurasia taught 500 people from former Soviet Union countries, Portugal, and Israel. All of their seminars are converted into media format and distributed online. The team produces many types of resources and uses a variety of online networks for engagement. Their main website had visitors from 78 countries this year, including from restricted areas.

  • GNPI-India produced the Zindagi Aaj series for a potential audience of 5 million on national TV. The 13 episodes deal with common family problems in this culture. The team completed three languages of Zúme, a discipleship training video series. They also finished the Bhojpuri and Oriya languages of The Global Gospel to introduce more people to Jesus.

  • GNPI-Kenya dedicated 75 percent of their time and resources to create evangelistic content and outreach and 25 percent to community-based programs. In total, they’ve reached 250,000 with gospel messages of peace, reconciliation, and hope, through radio and TV broadcasts, text message services, face-to-face meetings, and social media.

  • GNPI-Mexico began addressing a mental health epidemic by creating Feliz, a short film about a man who overcame suicidal thoughts. Over 22,000 people have seen Feliz through live screenings and various online platforms. This team has a significant following through their live radio programs and their release of The Global Gospel in Mexican Sign Language.

  • GNPI-Philippineshas created a virtual community on Facebook, where people are refreshed and recharged by their devotional lessons. Their series Asa Ka Pa (Hope Matters, too!) launched in 2018. So far, they’ve completed 390 episodes and have 21,648 followers. Most of their videos have thousands of online reactions. They are preparing to kick off another series about love in 2020.

  • GNPI-SE Asiacompleted the final four of their month-long discipleship training events. Trainees went on to hold 192 seminars in other parts of the region. These evangelists have shared with a total of 5,411 people and have baptized 400 since the training started in November 2017. The team is now equipping these Christian leaders to use media. This team has completed over 100 audio and video projects in 29 tribal languages on a variety of multimedia platforms. They began producing monthly video projects and creating some fundamental tools.

  • GNPI-Thailand strategically produces programs to reach the hearts of Thai Buddhist people around the world. Their projects highlight Christian ministries and individuals whose lives were changed by Christ and are now impacting their communities for the kingdom. For example, one project focuses on the life of Kuhn Pat, who developed a prison ministry. He uses the team’s programs to influence the lives of over 2,000 inmates annually across Thailand. Over 1,000 inmates have chosen to follow Jesus and be baptized since Kuhn Pat began sharing these videos.

  • GNPI-Uganda enjoys a continued partnership with Scripture Union, an organization that ministers to primary and secondary schools around Uganda. They showed Christian films at camps and saw 65 youths commit their lives to Christ this year. The team also loans Solar Kits to evangelists working in remote areas, and they’ve seen a total of 67 people choose to follow Jesus in the last 12 months. A total of 16,266 people have watched a film on the Solar Kits in this period. Another highlight is the completion of two languages in the OneTribe Peace Project radio series.

  • Global Outreach: Viewers around the globe watched 19,300 hours of GNPI video content on YouTube, Vimeo, and YouVersion in 2019 alone.

“Who are five new people you’re talking to and investing in for the kingdom this week?

Whose name is on your fridge?

Lito Solorio, Lead Pastor of Countryside Christian Church, Wichita, Kansas

My wife and I wanted to share Jesus with our neighbors, so we drew a diagram of the neighborhood and began praying. I’m embarrassed to admit that it took me six months to meet my next-door neighbor. I finally spoke to her because we were working to repair a hole in the fence between our properties. Once we visited, I found out she was a believer looking for opportunities to make disciples.

Our family has been writing names on our fridge for almost eight years. When people come to our house and see their names on our fridge, they don’t respond in a hostile way. They realize we care about them, and we’re praying for them.

Special Projects

Your gifts fund strategic evangelism all over the world, including projects like these:

  • Redux

It’s a discipleship tool that helps people to be intentional in building relationships toward first-time steps of faith in Jesus or increased maturity as a disciple.

  • THE TIMOTHY PROJECT

This ambitious effort trains followers of Jesus to open conversations with Buddhists by discussing what their prophets taught and explaining how Jesus fulfills these teachings. The first phase has effectively trained 148 pastors, evangelists, and even non-believers.

The second phase of The Timothy Project will continue with similar training events. It will seek to establish 14 media teams, one for each region and state in the nation.

  • Project Nomad Training

    Universidad Cristiana de México (UCM)

Our team in Mexico worked with the Christian University of Mexico in Querétaro to establish a media class, which began in August of this year. They are using the Nomad Level One student workbook with its accompanying instructor’s materials.

    Ukraine Nomad training events

After two Level One training events in Ukraine this year, we hope to continue pursuing Nomad relationships with the two colleges that hosted these events. These partnerships could result in more media education and the establishment of productive Nomad teams.

  • THE GLOBAL GOSPEL

This set of stories is taken directly from scripture to visually present the life of Jesus. It is now complete in 36 languages. Bible study plans using these programs are available on the most popular Bible app in the world, YouVersion. To date, users have completed more than 71,478 plans.

GNPI shares the good news through strategic evangelism and provides effective resources to increase global disciple-making efforts.
