Pressing On

Nenette Pacoli, Regional Director of GNPI-Manila, Philippines

The apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:58, “Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

As we pause to reflect on our ministry, the Lord has encouraged us to press on in several ways.

Our staff has several exciting announcements about Faith Matters, too! Great Commission TV, the only full-time Christian television station in the Philippines, has offered to broadcast episodes of our short devotional series twice a day during the week and once a day on the weekends at no charge. The series will air in October.

We are receiving positive feedback about our outreach through Faith Matters, too! The following comments really motivate us to keep working.

“The videos have become a daily moment of reflection and are enriching me spiritually.”

“The series is an important source of inspiration and wisdom; it completes my day.”

“Thank you so much for sharing this message with us. When I watch and listen to your message, I feel like God is talking to me.”

The 29-year-old executive of a local Christian merchandise business which markets products to young people, told us that he wakes up at 6:00 every morning to listen to and share Faith Matters, too! In their devotions at the office, they sometimes discuss Faith Matters, too! content for the day, and the businessman says he and his staff often ask themselves, “Is God talking to me?”

A few weeks after the executive started sharing the posts, he told us, “We’d like to offer support or help.” This company now provides the shirts for our host, Kuya Caloy. The company has a Facebook page with over 700,000 followers, and they share the videos on their page, sometimes twice a day. This led to a spike in our viewership. We have reached 20,000 followers for Faith Matters, too!

We have also reached 200 episodes, and earlier this month we initiated Saturday episodes where Caloy answers questions sent in by viewers who have reached out to us for help. May the Lord continue to speak to Filipinos through this series.

We are making plans for an additional series to branch off from Faith Matters, too! and the host we wanted has agreed. The host has a more street-smart style, and will be speaking more in Tagalog to connect with even more Filipinos. We hope to launch it in early January.

Finally, our Say It Forward series is also going well after nearly two years. The videos average six to eight minutes and are presented in a Christian TED Talk format. To date, we have completed 88 episodes with 15 speakers. Some of the talks have sparked discussions on the issues, and some schools in the provinces have used these videos to teach their students: Childhood Sexual Abuse, Integrity, and Love and Courtship.

We are currently running a series by a dentist through the middle of October:

A Love Relationship by Dra. Rhoda R. Formales
