“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” — Psalm 34:18 (NLT)
GNPI Praises and Prayer Requests for April 4, 2016
A Sudden Loss: We learned that our coworker Tom Silkwood, regional director of GNPI-Chiang Mai, Thailand, passed away suddenly on March 25, 2016. He will be greatly missed. Tom served in Thailand for nearly 30 years. He leaves behind his wife, Gayle, three adult children and their spouses, and five grandchildren. Tom was very proud of his Thai staff. Please pray for comfort for his family and staff during this difficult time.
A Significant Impact: Gustavo Velázquez of GNPI-Piedras Negras, Mexico, says, “Josue Morales, the accordion player in the Psalm 117 Music Video, visited our office and gave us a reason to praise the Lord. I offered to give him some of the materials we have produced. When Josue saw the films, he was surprised that we had produced the film La Ultima Oracion (Last Prayer). He had seen the film in an evangelistic campaign where he was singing with his band. Josue said the film made a significant impact on him, and many people accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior on the day they saw the film. He asked the pastor leading the meeting to show this film to other people because it helped win many souls to Christ.”
Blessed: Manee Massey of GNPI-Damoh, India, writes, “We have been blessed to have good time slots on some of the top channels in India. We want to connect with more unbelievers who have questions about Christ. We have promoted the Easter program in a variety of ways. We will also send messages to our Christmas viewers who gave us permission to contact them about other programming. Please pray for our staff as we follow up on our Easter program and for my family as we grieve the loss of my mother.”
Advanced Training: Nomad Coordinator Mark Allen is in Johannesburg, South Africa, for advanced training with our Project Nomad team. Please pray for Mark Allen and Mark and Lynette Johnson from Avalon Church of Christ in Virginia as they encourage and teach this ambitious team.
Who Am I? Sergei Golovin of GNPI-Eurasia writes, “This season our Reliable Foundations online apologetics club is called “Who Am I?” with a focus on the foundational issues of human origin, nature, purpose, and destiny. The first session was very interesting, and this season promises to be very exciting as well. We plan to develop a training course, a book, and other resources on the issue like we did last season. Please pray God would transform and strengthen many people!”
