About the Center: The Good News Productions, International office in Nairobi, Kenya opened in September 1995. Today this production facility is led by Regional Director Prince Makaya. Fifteen staff members produce materials in ten African languages. These materials reach into millions of homes every month. Some years ago, GNPI-Africa produced a pair of broadcast quality dramas. Tough Choices dealt with the issue of teenage promiscuity while the sequel Promise of Love addressed the issue of single mothers who are abused.
GNPI-Kenya has produced more than 20 teaching dramas in Swahili (the national language of Kenya) regarding matters such as being a good father, drunkenness, HIV/AIDS, and African courtship practices. Today, GNPI Kenya produces the Video Loop series using certain nationally regarded Christian recording artists’ songs coupled with accompanying Bible study lessons. Many public schools are already using the materials as a part of their curriculum. It is our goal that hundreds of schools and thousands of students will use the material. More than 40 music videos have been produced thus far.
