A few days after Kevin Turner committed his life to Jesus Christ in 1989, he prayed, "God, whatever you do with my life, use me to set the captives free." Eight years later he traveled to Sudan, where he redeemed fifteen children from slavery for $1,000.
In this Venture in Faith, Kevin, a missionary with Voice of the Martyrs, tells about his experiences delivering relief supplies and Bibles to "areas where people are on the verge of death," including Nicaragua, Bosnia, and Sudan. While in Sudan, Kevin saw evidence of the brutal torture and killing of Christians, and he and his group were fired upon by a National Islamic Front gunship. Kevin has testified on religious persecution before a Congressional committee, and his work in Sudan is included in the New Foxe's Book of Martyrs.
