Music and the “Hook to the Book Plan!”
By Mike Schrage on

Music—nothing in our “inner most” or “gut” or “soul” resonates like it! Want to remember a scripture verse? Put it to music. Want to reminisce about when you were 17? Put on the music of that era! Want to connect with the heart of God? Sing with music and get lost in worship to Him! Worship in song is what the “man after God’s own heart” was good at! King David was #1 in his music world—just look at the list and depth of the Psalms!

Wildflowers and Dancing Children
By Bob Sartoris on

During my recent visit to GNPI’s regional center in Ukraine, Sergei Golovin, our regional director, told me about a children’s Christmas musical that his team was preparing to videotape. I added it to my list of ‘future projects’ and moved on to a discussion of other projects they were considering. The truth is, a Christmas musical for children didn’t really sound too exciting to me, especially when compared to some of the other teaching materials they had on the agenda.

Music Videos Shown All Over Africa
By Bob Sartoris on

Do you remember when M-TV first started broadcasting?  At the time I thought it was something creative and exciting.  Now, it’s deteriorated to erotic and vulgar videos that I hope my daughters never see!  Many fear it’s too late to reclaim the minds of youth who are captivated by this stuff. Snotty kids were now leading in worship, little girls were now nursing mothers and bratty boys were now men of vision.

DETOX Series Launched in Africa
By Bob Sartoris on

I visited GNPI’s center in Nairobi in September and was impressed by the long list of projects that the team had recently completed, and by the even longer list of projects in the works. While they’ve obviously hit their stride in terms of productivity, it was even more encouraging to hear them talk about the goals of reaching more and more young people across the continent.

GNPI Spotlight: "My Life Is You"
By GNPI on

Kamau Karongo was born in Gachie, Kenya in 1980. There were 9 kids in his family! Wow! “I started singing in church as a small boy. I was saved in 1999 but even before then I was drawn to the work and ministry of the church. I think my mum’s death really made me rethink my life. It was then that I gave my life to Christ.”
