Have You Heard?
By Mike Schrage on

I met a couple a few weeks ago, who just celebrated 61 years together! That’s amazing, but let me tell you what I found to be even more amazing. When I talked with their preacher recently, he shared that both of them are getting hard of hearing. They have intentionally not purchased hearing aids because of the high costs—up to $2,000 a piece! So they’ve been getting along. Recently someone mentioned that they could at least refurbish a unit that a friend no longer needed who had passed away.

Tumaini Hotel
By GNPI on

written by Oneal Tankersly, former missionary to Africa and partner with GNPI

The other day I had one of those happy "Yes!" moments when I FedExed a CD to Bob Sartoris, International Director for GNPI, in time for him to take it with him on his trip to Nairobi, Kenya. The CD contains all the files for a printer to produce the book version of our Tumaini Hotel for distribution to high school libraries all over Kenya.

One suggested that they get a candy bar. The other stopped and reasoned that a candy bar wasn’t necessary, and if they saved their money it could be used in spreading the message of Christ around the world.

Life As We Know It
By GNPI on

Written by Vince Vigil, Media Coordinator for GNPI-Mbale, Uganda

We have some exciting news, we are going to have a baby! My wife, Joy, and I are getting ready to welcome a little one into our home in the next year. We are very excited. This will be our first time as being parents and I can say we are filled with emotions—excitement, fear, and an overwhelming sense that this is the right time, and right for us. This has really got me thinking a lot about how “life as we know it” will change, and making plans for the future.

Idolatry!
By Tom Nutt on

Since the beginning of time people have struggled with images that are representations of gods. These images have been made from every type of material available, every shape and size imaginable, some having been made with great sacrifice and wealth. The difference between a carving or statue and an idol is the motive by which it is viewed.
