In late 1976, thirty-seven major denominations banded together in a unified effort to harness the technology of the Applied Technology Satellite No. 6. The challenge had come through Colonel Lawson Wynne, by the U. S. Government and NASA, that churches could use the experimental communication satellite if all programming would be:  (1) non-sectarian (Bible only, like Frank Borman’s reading from Apollo 10 on Christmas Eve), (2) in the language and culture of the people to whom the programs are beamed, and (3) with no blatant preaching.

Where Are Your Headquarters?

Though his physical stature was slight and frail, Chief Dandawa stood strong as a Paramount Chief in Zimbabwe. Under discussion on that tense day in September of 1961 was whether he would grant permission for us to live in his area and establish a Christian work. Highlights From the Birthplace of GNPI

Days were filled with excitement as Missionary Max Randall flew his Stinson aircraft from South Africa to make survey trips into what was Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabawe). Ray Knapp was his main contact. About the same time, Rhodesian Prime Minister Garfield Todd arranged to meet John Pemberton and Dennis Pruett on a trip to Canada. He gave them a personal invitation to join the work by New Zealand and Australian missionaries at Dadaya Mission.

Dr. Vijay Lall suggested to his son David that they make a quick stop in Joplin, MO at Good News Productions, International.
